I thought using one of these was impactful. Using two in my Fosi V3 Mono blocks sounds amazing. They are a tight fit one classy, but they went in, and man, what a difference. Best $100 (4 V1 Op Amps) I’ve spent in my Hi-fi system in a long time. These are highly recommended.
I have bought two pairs of Supersonic V1. Two are installed on a Aiyima T20 and two on a Fosi ZD3 DAC. The T20 is functioning with 2 Fosi ZA3 in mono through XLR plugs. The DAC ZD3 is working with old (but both updated) Quad 44 preamp and 405-2 amplifier I bought new. I must say the T20 is equipped with Gold Lion tubes, which add to the overall quality of its sound restitution ability. These setups are pure delights in term of sound quality and restitution of all frequency range. I have a third setup with another ZD3, plugged on a McIntosh C22 and MC 275 Commemorative Edition. This DAC is equipped with 2 Sparkos SS3602. Conclusion: the sound provided by the Sparkos has been widely discussed and rightly praised but is there any justification to pay almost 4 times the price of a Supersonic V1 for a result that, at least for my ears, is not overly different in quality from this of the V1? Each one will find an answer according to one’s taste and conviction (or religion I would say speaking about audiophiliacs). In the end the money spares would benefit to the best speakers you can afford attending that everything before them you would have carefully chosen is at the best level of quality and complementarity. Obviously one can also buy other avatars of "Virtual HiFi" OPAmps... PS: For the fun of it, I tried one V1 on the Quad 44 CD/AUX input card but it was not happy with this setup, not at all!
I didn't like the stock sound of my Fosi ZD3. It was somehow bright and to some extent digital. It's now fuller and more analog. The design and the color is also amazing.
My friend installed these into my Consonance Droplet CD5 player. It replaces the existing Burr Brown opa2604 opamps. The difference is more detail and better separation of instruments with greater clarity to vocals. I am still burning them in. To me, bass in stightly less than the Burr Broiwn opamp. Hopefully this will change over time.
While not a dramatic improvement, it's worthwhile. The sound is more detailed and controlled on my AIYIMA A80.

UPDATE Feb 4, 2026 - This Reveiw Is Actually For V2 ---------------- After Running These V2s around the clock the last 4 days - so now they have over 100 hours on them - I can say with all sincerity - these OpAmps are the BOMB! They are musical, detailed, tight and clean. For several days I felt they injected too much energy in to a system that already had Vivid OpAmps in the Amplifiers. Now after 100 hourse they have settled down. Bass is authritative, tight, controlled and detailed. Mids are clean and present and Diana Krall's voice is lush as ever and the treble is crystal clear and detailed. FOr days the system became fatiguing, it's now just spacious. Everything I loved about my set up before the SusperSonic V2 but more! ---------- I bought the SS v2 to replace the LME 49720 that came stock in the Fosi ZP3 Pre (awesome preamp btw - don't let the price fool you) I run a WiiM Ultra > Gustard U18 DDC > Laiv uDAC > Fosi ZP3 > 2 x Fosi ZA3 Mono with Burson V7V in the XLR and output stages. This set up sounded spectacular, The ZP3 in stock form took whatever it was fed and passed it through very cleanly and transparently over to the AMPs. So I decided, well maybe with the SS v2s I could squeeze a bit more holography , bass definition and detail into the overall sound stage. On swapping in the SS v2 to the preamp, the sound immediately degraded, like a veil got thrown over the the whole sound field. This didn't surprise me as Ive seen this with other opAmps and sure enough, after running them for approx 12 hours, the veil lifted and all the clarity came back. The problem I encountered now that they've run about 30 hours is that I've got the Burson V7Vs in my Amps. They are detail monsters and add bass weight and "vividness", energy into the upper registers. These Supersonics, do pretty much the same thing as the V7Vs and I find they are a bit too much in combination with Bursons - what was a perfect set up became a bit fatiguing. I don't blame the VHF SSv2 for this... It was just the wrong pairing. Having heard them in the PreAmp - I think they would be a perfect and more affordable substitute for the Burson Vivids - they are just too much in the pre-amp with the V7Vs in the Amps. I'm certain they would be great in the Fosi ZA3 Amplifiers. Up until now I have been running my system with the PEQ set to a slight U with an elevation at 64 hz running flat from 500 hz to 4000 Khz and slight rize at 14 to 20 khz. This setting has been very good in this set up prior to the SSv2. Now that SSv2 are are in the pre-amp - I've removed the treble rise and it has settled everything down a bit but it's still a bit bright. Bottom Line, these are great OpAmps and I'd buy them again. Id certainly use them as a viable replacement for Bursons at half the price. (the 2 Fosi amps were $300, the 4 Bursons tat went into them were $350). But if you've already got a detailed and energetic system, you might be better served with the SS v1.
The op amps are well made and very sturdy when compared to the original ones in the Fosi Audio V3 mono blocks. The sound is amazing, deep controlled bass, smooth mids and a sharp, not harsh, highs. HiFi is subjective and my upgraded Fosi amps sounds great to me. The video shows that my basic of basic setup sounds great to me (excuse poor sound quality of the phone). It’s an Alexa with one mono block per channel; and it’s all hidden in the corner of the room.
Since installing the op-amps in my DAC, I've been listening daily. The DAC has two Wolfson chips. My preamp has a Burr-Brown DAC that sounds really good. Initially, I compared the two side-by-side... I preferred the integrated Burr-Brown DAC in my preamp. Now the electronics have settled in, and I much prefer the dual Wolfson DAC with the Supersonic V1 op-amp. Everything sounds much cleaner and more precise. The soundstage is wider, and the transients are incredibly punchy. I'd love to try the Supersonic V2, but I'm more than satisfied with the V1. Keep up the good work!
Happy to report The Supersonic V1 fits (just) in the Fosi X5 phono preamp. Awsome upgrade from the stock opamp. Great focus/placement/separation of instruments. Good tight lows and very important mids! Very musical, airy and balanced. Now that I know the V1 fits, i'm very curious how the Supersonic V2 will sound. But perhaps with it's gain of air, lows and highs, I would lose balance and the mids of the V1. I will probably try them anyway...! Btw... one difficult thing with phono preamps is burning in components, since you do not have the repeat funtion. However, I 'm sure it burned in enough to give this review. And it never got hot. Just a bit warm, perhaps because of the alluminium enclosure of the X5. Great job VirtualHifi!!!
Just received my order of Supersonic V1’s, Supersonic V2’s, and Hypersonics. Unfortunately the DAC they are for doesn’t arrive for another month. I will amend / write another review once I have listened to them but for now I can confirm; - Dispatched within a couple of days of ordering. - Tracking was accurate and updated at sensible milestones between Poland and Australia. - Packaged really well and containers did their job keeping the units safe and are a nice touch. They will be used for storage. - Physical build is really impressive. About as bomb-proof as a chipset can get. Feel high value and worth the price from the physical form perspective. -Excited to put them to good use and see how they sound. More to follow …
Hello, I bought a DAC on eBay from a brand I'd never heard of before... the AmouX DAC-X. After hours of research, I discovered that the same DAC was also available from "Gustard." The special thing about it is that the op-amps are replaceable—nothing new these days. So I bought the Virtual HIFI Supersonic V1 op-amps and wasn't disappointed. The sound changed dramatically in every way. Highly recommended!!!
I recently replaced the stock op-amps in my amplifier with higher-quality ones, and the difference was immediate. The overall sound feels more detailed and refined — the highs are clearer without being harsh, the mids sound more natural, and the bass feels tighter and better controlled. I’ve also noticed better instrument separation and a more open, dynamic soundstage. Background noise seems reduced as well, which adds to the overall clarity. Another pleasant surprise was the packaging: the op-amps arrived very well packed and securely protected, ensuring they wouldn’t get damaged during shipping. In short, this upgrade has given new life to my amplifier. I’d definitely recommend trying an op-amp swap if you want to fine-tune or improve your system’s sound signature.

Good value for money
I recently upgraded two Fosi Audio ZA3 amplifiers by installing four op-amps using the Virtual HiFi Supersonic V1. The difference was immediately noticeable: the sound became more refined, with more detail and clarity across the spectrum. Instruments are better separated, vocals sound more lifelike, and the overall imaging has improved. The ZA3 was already a solid performer, but with this upgrade, it feels like it’s operating on a higher level. For anyone looking to push their Fosi amps further, the Supersonic V1 op-amp enhancement is worth it.
Upon first listening brand new I could tell the sound stage was bigger they filled my room, the bass was very prominent and deep even with my subwoofer off. Overall I can't wait to burn in longer and enjoy the benefits of supersonic V2. Thank you
This is actually feedback for the Supersonic V1 AND the Hypersonic op-amps. The V1 replaced the standard op-amps in my Fosi Audio ZA3 amps run in dual mono mode. Big improvement! Instruments sounded much better defined and the sound stage was much wider and deeper. Bass was deep and warm as were the mids. The treble was clean but a little bit too rolled off for me in my system. So I upgraded to the Hypersonic op-amps...everything is better again! Bass is tighter, midband is more substantial and alive and the treble is more extended without any harshness. Music now sounds so natural and involving, I'm very happy thanks to Greg for his help.
On Greg's advice I chose the Supersonic V2. At the time of writing this review I have been using it for 4 days. I replaced the standard opamp in the ZeroZone mono amplifiers and it was an immediately audible difference. I immediately can hear the clarity and micro details in the music. After a few days of playing this has increased further. The airiness and focus have increased enormously. The bass is very clean and deep and in layers that I have not heard before. I am curious how this will develop further and did not expect the difference to be so big. I am thinking to put the Supersonic V2 on a opamp extender so it is further away from the Nichinkon elkos under the opamp. The amplifier is a lot of time in use because it also used for looking movies and TV.
Forgot to add these pictures to my previous review: temp readings before and after adding finned heatsinks on top of the ultrasonic heatsinks. Worth doing if you notice the op amps getting a bit too hot.
I ordered 2 Ultrasonics for my Aiyima A07 Max and have been very impressed with them so far. I haven't tried many other op amps, but compared to the OPA2134 I had in there previously the sound seems fuller and more detailed, albeit a little brighter/analytical than the OPA2134. I didn't do a direct A-B comparison, so take all of that with a grain of salt. My only gripe with the Ultrasonics (and this is to be expected) is that they get VERY hot. Perhaps in part due to the op amps on my A07 Max being so close together, I noticed that the temperature could hit close to 100C, which is a bit more than I'm comfortable with. To fix this, I added some finned aluminum heatsinks on top of the supersonic heatsinks, and tied them on with some magnet wire. Temps are much better now, hitting a peak of around 63-64C. My suggestions for a future revision of these op amps would be to use a slightly larger finned heatsink instead of the solid ones, preferably made from copper. Other than that, I'm very pleased with these op amps and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!
Out of curiosity, I bought the Supersonic v1, v2 for Fosi zd3 and za3 and compared it to Sparkos. I'm shocked because Supersonic was better than Sparkos. Supersonic v1 stayed in fosi za3, and Supersonic v2 in fosi zd3. This combination sounded the best. I made several comparisons and this combo easly won against Audiolab 7000a and Marantz M1..
I chose the supersonic v1 installed in my Fosi ZD3 and the result is exactly what I expected on my system. Deep bass, well-present mids and treble that does not attack the ear as well as a wide soundstage and good separation of voices and instruments. It's perfect👍

In my 3e A7 Mono I first replaced the thin sounding OPA1656 by an OPA1612 - better but I was hoping for more…., especially more analog/ a bit warmer sound. So I went for the V1 and after a few days of burning in it does exactly what I was hoping for. No sensational change as OPA 1612 wasn‘t bad at all, just that bit of natural sounding power, non-digital voices etc. that makes music (and its listener…) flow. Due to the good ventilation of the A7 Mono the V1s heat is no big deal but I gave the case some additional holes …..
I added the V1 to my fosi za3, wow. Not sure how to describe the difference, but it is clearly better. Loving it
I added a pair of these to a Fosi audio ZD3 replacing Sparkos Labs op amps. What an improvement, it was as if a veil was removed from my music. Very detailed, along with a huge improvement in soundstage. Two thumbs up, great price, and outstanding sound.
It installs easily inside the Fosi V3 Stereo. After a few hours of burn-in, the sound took shape and became smooth and rich. Very happy with this real upgrade. Thank you Greg

Swapped out the op amps in my Fosi Audio ZH3, with the V1s, and now the ZH3 sounds better than a £600 head amp which I also own - a big upgrade on the stock sound of the ZH3

I ordered (2) of the V1s to try rolling into the primary op amp position in my Fosi Audio V3 Mono amps. I immediately noticed an improvement in high end clarity and attack in the mid range from percussion instruments. This was a great upgrade for only 60ish USD. I would have rated this 5 stars, but I had issues with the order and had some poor communication from the seller. It did eventually arrive, but the tracking number given was not valid and I could get no update from the merchant. I will most likely order (2) of V2s next but will lower my expectations regarding the merchant and post buying experience.

I use them in an Audiophonics Hypex ncx500 amplifier, and on a Fosi zA3 amplifier, the result is stunning.
