Parallel Op-Amps by Virtual HiFi

Recently, discrete Op Amps became popular.

Since they are built with individual components, many consider them to be better-sounding than the regular integrated Op Amps we know very well.

I agree. I tested many different Op Amps, and the discrete ones always truly shined and sounded superior.
  
However there is one trick that can be done with regular IC Op Amps - paralleling them


Paralleining the Opamps increases the power, control, and drive—making the sound bigger, bolder, and more dynamic.

So why not use and bridge the best-integrated circuit Op Amps available nowadays?

Increasing the number of Op Amps in parallel multiplies the output drive capability, reduces noise and offset error.

The more Op Amps we parallel, the more body, control, bass,  soundstage width, presence, and organic-ness in the sound gets. The sonic improvements are so huge that even two of the best currently manufactured integrated circuit paralleled Op Amps exceed what the discreet Op Amps can offer. 

Ok, where is the catch? Why is it not that popular?

Well, there is a price to pay for that enhanced performance.

First of all, it’s the increased cost. There are multiple Op Amps instead of one, which makes the device cost multiple times higher.  

The second thing is size. That increases multiple times as we multiply the number of Op Amps in parallel.
Also, the more Op Amps we parallel, the more power they draw. 

So, not only most circuits never were designed to provide the  needed power, but excess heat also needs to be dissipated by additional radiators, which increases the cost and size of such Op Amps.

Sound Character -  This Op-Amp has all of the dynamics and openness of the Supersonic V2 and adds additional layer of dense, rich sound with even more present bass and immersion in the midrange. This it the sweet spot and the most neutral, organic and immersive Op Amp that you can use.

Do not use in closed enclosures. Do not use more than 4 Hypersonic Op-Amps per device. This Op-Amp draws 0.17 Amp of current. It means that using more than four of those Op-Amps might result in the damage or overheating of the device you are using the Hypersonic's in.
